The Mint Museum is a museum in Charlotte, North Carolina, that is dedicated to the arts and history, and culture of the United States. The museum has two locations: the main building, which is located in uptown Charlotte, and the second location, which is located in Randolph, North Carolina. The first being opened in 1936. The museum features a variety of art from different time periods, as well as a section on North Carolina's history. It is the oldest art museum in the Southeast. The Mint Museum currently has more than 27,000 objects in its collection.

It was founded in 1936 by Dr. Junius Spencer Morgan, great-grandson of J.P. Morgan. The museum was originally housed in the J.P. Morgan building in downtown Charlotte. The museum moved to its current location in uptown Charlotte in 1988.

The Mint Museum's collections focus on American art, with an emphasis on regional art from the Southeast. The museum also has collections of European and Japanese art, as well as African art. It is a great place to visit for those interested in art and history. The museum offers free admission for all visitors on Sundays, and there are also a variety of programs and events that take place throughout the year.

It has a vast collection of paintings and sculptures from the American and European continents, as well as art from the Pre-Columbian, African, and Spanish colonial periods. Additionally, there are ample collections of costumes from different eras and some of the best European and American pottery in the nation. The museum is also responsible for hosting exhibits from other museums, as well as supporting two research libraries.
